The nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic left many migrants homeless and jobless. Many came forward to help them in these trying times. However, there are many middle-class families who are struggling to make their ends meet. So, South superstar Vijay Deverakonda took it upon himself to provide support to over 17,000 such families.
The Arjun Reddy star took to his Instagram to share the final report of the work done by his foundation over the past one month. The Devarakonda Foundation, a non-profit organization that was established in April 2019, has successfully backed 17,213 middle-class families with essentials and groceries by spending Rs.1 crore 70 lakh.
The actor also wrote an open letter to these middle-class families, stating that more than eight thousand families donated for the cause, while there were about 535 volunteers. Together they established a middle-class fund (MCF).
In light of the current economic situation of our country and its people, celebrities from all film industries have been trying their best to help provide relief in some way or the other. Many donated towards the PM and CM funds, while Sonu Sood took charge of sending all the migrants safely back to their respective home town.
On the work front, Vijay Devarakonda will be starring opposite Ananya Panday in Puri Jagganadh‘s tentatively titled movie Fighter. This will also mark Ananya’s debut in the Tollywood industry. In addition to that, the movie is being produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta.
A few months ago the actor had also shared a picture of the same. His caption read, “Presenting to you -#PuriDeverakonda Madness Starring -#AnanyaPandayVijayDeverakonda”.
Well, I am can’t wait to see the duo work their magic on the silver screen!
