A few months ago, Baahubali director S. S. Rajamouli had unveiled the electrifying motion poster of Roudram Ranam Rudhiram aka RRR. Apart from the grand poster, the film also boasted of a stellar cast. And now, another actor just joined this star-studded RRR family! Actor Shriya Saran, who was last seen in NTR Kathanayakudu, just revealed that she is a part of Rajamouli’s much-awaited magnum opus RRR. In an Instagram chat session, the actor confirmed that she has a very emotional character which will be seen in the flashback section of the film.
Opening up about her role in the movie, Shriya said:
I have an emotional role in the film that comes during the flashback episodes. I will be shooting with Ajay Devgn for the role in RRR. Hope to join the sets once the coronavirus lockdown gets lifted and international flights resume.
The movie will also mark her reunion with the director after 15 long years. She had earlier worked with him in his Telugu action-drama, Chatrapathi, in 2005 which featured the famous Baahubali actor, Prabhas in the lead. Shriya also disclosed that she has been roped in for 2 other Tamil films.
RRR is based on the lives of two freedom fighters and is being produced under the DVV Entertainment banner. It is also interesting that this is the first time Rajamouli will be making a film inspired by true events.
The magnum opus stars Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles. Hollywood stars Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris are also set to feature in the movie.
The film is slated to release on January 8, 2021.
