A lot of people in the film industry have been affected by the complete shutdown of operations over the past three months. From daily-wage workers to theatre owners, everyone who depended on daily functioning of the film industry have been deeply affected. A lot of actors and personalities including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan have come forward and extended their support to their fellow colleagues in the industry. The latest being actor Shahid Kapoor.

According to a Times Of India report, the Kaminey actor has extended his support the background dancers community by transferring funds to their account. As they depended on film shoots every month for their bread and butter, this has been a tough time for them financially. Shahid has worked with these dancers from his debut film Ishq Vishq to his latest film, and chose over 40 dancers who are in a tough situation and is going to support them until things are back to normal.

He is also supporting around 20 dancers each from choreographers Bosco and Caesar‘s troupes and Ahmed Khan‘s troupes.

This is a great initiative, Shahid. Kudos to you.

The actor is currently quarantining with his family in Punjab. He was last seen in Kabir Singh and was shooting for his film Jersey before the lockdown.
