Akshay Kumar was one of the first and in fact, the only actor who shot for a Public Service ad on spreading awareness on coronavirus during the lockdown in Mumbai. Of course, he did the same only after attaining every possible permission and taking care of all the safety precautions. And now, if reports around the internet are to be believed, it turns out the actor will soon start shooting for his next movie, Bell Bottom which is touted as a spy-thriller based on true events. Akshay had announced the project towards the end of 2019 itself. As the lockdowns around the nation are easing up, the entertainment world is also planning to go back to shooting. While full-fledged shooting might still take a while, Akshay is said to start shooting this project rather quickly. In fact, the entire film is said to be shot in Scotland.

A report in Bollywood Hungama suggested that the filmmakers and Akshay were planning to start shooting next month and most of the shoot will be done abroad, predominantly Scotland. Talking about the budget going overboard with an overseas location, the source said that with the economic slowdown around the world, films that are being shot aborad can seek assistance in terms of permissions and rebates in return for film promotions. Although permissions for the shoot have been acquired strict guidelines have been laid down to ensure everyone’s safety. Apparently, the location of Scotland will play an integral part in the plot. As for the story, nothing can be said except that it is set in the 80s.

The movie is directed by Ranjit M Tewari and produced by Jacky Bhagnani, Vashu Bhagnani, Nikkhil Advani,  Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, and Madhu Bhojwani.
