If you are a lover of romantic Bollywood films, chances are you have definitely watched Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. The Dia Mirza and R.Madhavan starrer didn’t do wonders at the box-office but it achieved cult status following over the years. Now, a report by Mid-Day has revealed that the makers are thinking of a sequel to the 2001 film. Adding to that, the makers are also in talks with the lead actors to reprise their roles.
The publication quotes a source saying:
The makers toyed with some concepts, on and off, over the years. Only now have they found a script that has appealed to everyone and seems a natural progression to the lives of Maddy and Reena (the characters portrayed by Madhavan and Dia respectively). The script is in the final stage of development.
The film also starred Saif Ali Khan and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.
The movie had Madhavan’s character, Maddy, pretending to be Reena‘s (Dia Mirza) prospective groom to woo her only to break her heart later. Reena recognises that Maddy is someone else and has been deceiving her all this while when Rajiv (played by Saif) comes into the picture as the real prospective groom. Reena almost gets married to Rajiv when she realises that she has feeling for Maddy. The music of the film has been also one of the reasons for the film’s success, and it is still fresh in our minds to date.
