There has been a lot of uproar and unrest surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death by suicide in the past week. Now, Bhojpuri star and BJP MP, Manoj Tiwari, has demanded the case to be handed over to the CBI. He said that those coming from small towns always face discrimination and bias in the Hindi film industry. Manoj recently met the late actor’s family at his residence in Patna and told the reporters that he favours a high-level inquiry into the incident.
I would urge Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to do the needful by recommending a CBI inquiry. There must be a high-level investigation into the circumstances that drove the young actor to suicide.
Earlier, Manoj Tiwari had sparked discussions about his own alleged humiliation on Salman Khan‘s reality show, Bigg Boss. Manoj is said to share cold vibes with the Dabangg star since then.
I would not take any names as of now as I would prefer accountability to be fixed by a proper investigation. However, it is no secret that people like us, with roots in small towns, are discriminated against in Bollywood and our success only leads to an increase in backbiting.
On June 14, 34-years-old Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide. His demise has sparked a lot of discussions about nepotism in the Hindi film industry.
