Just a few days ago, singer Sonu Nigam shared a video on his Instagram where he blamed T-Series chairman, Bhushan Kumar, for defaming him. Now, actor-filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar, who is also Bhushan Kumar’s wife, has taken to her social media to get back at all the allegations posed by the singer.

Divya uploaded the video with a caption that read, ‘The Bitter Truth #SonuNigam.’

In her 11-minute long video, she started by stating that T-series have given a break to many outsiders and then asks Sonu, if he has ever promoted new and fresh talent. Divya says “You (Sonu) are such a legend. How many people have you given a break to?”. She even claims that “97% of people working in T-Series are outsiders, not industry kids.”

Next, Divya reveals that the singer used to sing in Delhi’s Ramleela for Rs 5. She says that it was there that Gulshan Kumar spotted him, acknowledged his talent and gave him a flight ticket to Mumbai and told him, ‘Son, I will make you a big artiste.’ She also calls her chef, Sheru, to verify her story as he has been working with the T-Series family since 1988.

The filmmaker-actor also went on to reveal that Sonu left T-Series immediately after Gulshan Kumar’s assassination and joined another music company instead of extending help to a young Bhushan Kumar. She proceeds to question as to why her husband would go to Sonu to save himself from gangster Abu Salem. She asks, “Did Sonu Nigam Ji have relations with Abu Salem?”, requesting an investigation into the matter.

Divya also talks about how it is not right to misuse the Me Too movement and frivolously throw allegations on people. She reveals that her family has been receiving multiple death and rape threats and are being blackmailed ever since Sonu’s video has come out.

Concluding the video, she says that she did not want to make this video, but got her inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita and decided to stand by the truth. In the end, she declares that “the war is on.”
