There has been a lot of speculation of who will take up the role of Mr. Rishabh Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 ever since the announcement of Karan Singh Grover making an exit from the show for the second time. Finally, Karan Patel, popularly known for his stint as Raman Bhalla in Balaji Telefilms’ TV show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Confirming the news to Indian Express, he spoke about his excitement to start the show and revealed that they will be starting shoot for the show next week.

He said:

It’s going to be fun in many ways, firstly to resume work after almost three months. Most importantly, the fact that I played the role of Mr Bajaj’s son’s friend in the original, and now starring in the show as Mr Bajaj, well, life has come to a full circle.

Karan also recently talked to Times Of India about obvious comparisons that may come up between him and KSG. The actor was confident in his abilities and said that he doesn’t fear comparisons and it was bound to happen. He also mentioned that he has his own approach when he takes up a character and that fear creeps in when you expect failures. He revealed that as an artist, he never really preps for a role and that he is spontaneous. He further added that Mr. Bajaj is an iconic character that people have loved for years and that he would be honoured to take the journey forward from where Ronit Roy and Karan Singh Grover left off by adding his nuances to it. He specified that he intends to make Mr. Bajaj as loved as Mr. Bhalla, his character from Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Karan Singh Grover had quit the show last October but later decided to rejoin the cast. Now with Balaji Telefilms prepping shoots, he wasn’t keen on coming to shoot with the increasing number of coronavirus cases and the recent restrictions that have been placed on shoots. Some reports also suggest that he wasn’t a big fan of his character turning so grey either.

We are beyond excited to see how Karan is going to take this character forward.
