On Monday, Disney+Hotstar announced the list of seven films that will premiere on their platform through a press conference that was held virtually. It was attended by Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Abhishek Bachchan. However, the cast of Vidyut Jamwal‘s Khuda Hafiz and Kunal Kemmu‘s Lootcase were not invited for the conference despite their movies being among the 7 on the list. Actor Vidyut Jamwal took to his Twitter to express his distress and said, “Seven films scheduled for release but only five are deemed worthy of representation. Two films receive no invitation or intimation. The cycle continues.”

Aahana Kumra, Vidyut’s co-star spoke her mind too, according to a report by Mid-Day, she said—

I found out about the press conference after seeing Vidyut’s tweet. I have not bothered asking why I wasn’t informed. I know it won’t lead to an answer.

Aahana surprised by the biased behaviour of the streaming giant said—

The OTT platforms I have worked with have been warm, professional and democratic in how they present you. They pride themselves in equal representation. This is the first time I have seen such behaviour.

The actress also expressed—

Vidyut is an outsider who has made it on merit. We must support such talent considering it’s difficult to crack the industry in today’s times. Self-made people too deserved to be on this panel. We all should have been part of it.

Actor Kunal Kemmu too took to his Twitter to express his dismay and wrote that love and respect is something that should be earned and not asked for. He said, “Izzat aur pyaar maanga nahi kamaya jaata hai. Koi na de toh usse hum chhote nahi hote. Bas maidaan khelne ke liye barabar de do chhalaang hum bhi oonchi laga sakte hai”.
