What theatres are losing out on, OTT platforms are gaining. With the number of Covid-19 cases increasing day by day, theatres still remain shut for the safety of people all around. Due to this many filmmakers have decided to go for a direct digital release. Just yesterday seven major films were announced for direct release on Disney+Hotstar. There was a virtual press conference held to make the big announcement and to unveil the posters. The virtual event was attended by Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, and Abhishek Bachchan and hosted by Varun Dhawan. While seven films were announced for direct OTT release on the platform, two films were clearly left out. The cast members of films Lootcase that stars Kunal Kemmu or Khuda Haafiz starring Vidyut Jammwal were missing for the virtual event. Both Vidyut and Kunal expressed their disappointment at the fact that the OTT platform sidelined their movies to give more importance to movies with bigger budgets and bigger stars. Kunal Kemmu took to Twitter to say that at least the playing field should be equal for everyone.

Take a look:

Vidyut also took to express his displeasure through a tweet saying that seven films were announced but only five were deemed worthy of representation.

This happens in the light of raging social media debate on nepotism that began with the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput.
