On Monday, ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali recorded his statement at the Bandra police station in connection with the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He along with his legal team reached at 12:30 and left at 3:30. According to a report by Mid-Day, the filmmaker told the police that he hadn’t dropped the late actor from his films but, the actor said no to his film because he was shooting some other movie with Yash Raj Films.

The director was quizzed for almost four hours and the investigation team had concocted 20 questions for the filmmaker. He was questioned about his relationship with the actor and which were the movies he wanted to work with him. As it has been claimed that Sushant went into depression after being dropped out of Ramleela and Bajirao Mastani, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, he was quizzed about the same. But according to the police officer, he denied the allegations.

According to the filmmaker’s statement to the cops, Sushant was busy shooting for Yash Raj Films’ Pani and he refused the offer. The police officer said-

The director wanted his full attention for two of his big films but as Rajput was busy and refused to work, Bhansali did not ask him again.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali also said that he had met Sushant last in 2016, and they weren’t in touch after that. The filmmaker also added that they were not close to each other and he wasn’t aware of his personal details.
