Hrithik Roshan‘s debut film, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, was an iconic film of those times. The film went on to break records at the box office and was a hit romantic drama among the youngsters then. While Hrithik and Ameesha’s Patel‘s pair became a hit, every character from the film was memorable. Especially the cute little kid who played Hrithik’s younger brother, Amit, in the film. Now, it’s so cool that I got to speak to the now older, Abhishek Sharmaa, and chat with him about how it was playing Hrithik’s brother and his experience working on the film! He says there are two memories from shooting for the film that are very dear to him and has taught him a lot.

Talking about how he learnt so much seeing Hrithik ons et, he says:

Hrithik Bhaiyya being so dedicated was amazing to see. Though he was being launched, he was the hero, he never took anything for granted. He used to know everyone’s dialogues by heart – his dialogues, mine, and everyone’s in the scene. It was the same with all the songs in the film, he used to make it a point to learn all the lyrics.

Well, guess that’s what it takes to be a great actor. Abhishek agrees and says that’s what he learnt from Hrithik as well as Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik’s dad and the director of the film.

Talking about something he learnt from Rakesh Roshan, he shares:

Another memory I have is of Rakesh uncle. At that time I was doing Champion with Sunny Deol as well, along with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. I had come late on set one day. There was some timing issue. And that day, I was not being able to get my lines right, I was fumbling a lot. So I always told Rakesh Uncle that, “Mujhe hero banna hai (i want to become a hero)”. Now, he took me to a corner and told me, “Agar hero banna hai na, toh pehle apna lines seekhna hai (If you want to become a hero, you have to first learn your lines well).” I started crying then. Hrithik bhaiyya and everyone had to come and console me. Then the next day, when we came back on set, I did that whole scene in one take. So he got up and clapped for me. That was an experience I’ll never forget!

This is such a sweet memory, right?

From being a child actor then, Abhishek has now worked in popular TV shows like Miley Jab Hum Tum, and Y.A.R.O Ka Tashan. Now, he is all set to star in a mini series for Eros Now called Date Gone Wrong 2.
