Along with Shanker, Das composes and performs songs that are raw, simple, and moving. Their band often uploads covers of songs, and their quarantine covers have especially gained quite some popularity in recent times.

He is aboard Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding, the musical

Namit has experience in theatre from his early days and is still very much active in the medium, which he considers his alma mater. The actor is part of the Mira Nair‘s ‘Monsoon Wedding’ cast, and is also one of its music composers. The musical is about the stress, joy, gossip, and wonder surrounding the preparations of an extravagant marriage in India. This stage rendition by Nair was to hit the two most prestigious theatres in the UK, namely The Roundhouse and Leeds Playhouse. However, owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the musical has now been scheduled for 2021. Sounds like one play I would love to attend!

And to his luck, that’s where all eyes are during these times! He has his web show, Mafia releasing today on his birthday, while Mira Nair’s, A Suitable Boy is awaiting digital release very soon. And when it comes to TV, the actor makes viewers chuckle as Sumit in Sumit Sambhal Lega, a sitcom that chronicles the life of a reckless and funny man, who has a joke for every situation.

Namit turned composer for Mira Nair’s A Suitable Boy, too!

The actor-singer donned the hat of a composer to create three songs for Mira Nair’s adaptation of A Suitable Boy. Das is yet to know which of the three songs will be finalised for the BBCOne series.
