6 Actors Who Are All Set To Play Members Of The Armed Forces In Their Upcoming Films

Shubanka Sridhar

If there is one film my brother and I loved as kids, it had to be Lakshya. We would have watched it a thousand times. I absolutely loved Hrithik Roshan in it, and there’s something about how that film evokes such love for our nation and for the undying spirit of the army men like nothing else. After Hrithik, the other person whom I loved in the role of an army man was Vicky Kaushal in Uri: The Surgical Strike. Now, that was another favourite film that just got my ‘josh‘ up, every time I watched it!

Interestingly, the coming year, we’re going to get a chance to see a lot of actor’s play the role of the fearless and selfless Army men (and women!). From Sidharth Malhotra to Janhvi Kapoor and Akshay Kumar, these actors are set to tell the stories of the brave-hearts who sacrificed their all and fought valiantly for our country.

Here are all the actors who are going to feature as members of the Armed Forces in their upcoming films:

Sidharth Malhotra

Pursuing the story of Param Veer Chakra Awardee, Captain Vikram Batra, Sidharth Malhotra is all set to bring the valour of this martyr on-screen in Shershaah. From prepping with the Batra family, to spending time and working with the armed forces, Sidharth is giving it all to this project.

Angad Bedi

Angad has played the part of an Army man before in Tiger Zinda Hai. Now, he is set to be a part of the film, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. He will portray the role of Gunjan Saxena‘s brother, Anshuman, an Army officer who plays a key role in Gunjan’s career and stint during the 1999 Kargil War. We cannot wait to see him in the film!

Janhvi Kapoor

Talking about Gunjan Saxena, how can we not talk about Janhvi Kapoor, the hero of Gunjan Saxena: THe Kargil Girl. She has taken on the task of shouldering the story of the brave and determined Flight Lieutenant, Gunjan Saxena, who changed the course of Kargil War. She was the first woman pilot of the IAF to fly into the combat zone during the war. I sure am excited to see Janhvi become Gunjan and to relive her amazing journey in the film!

Akshay Kumar

While Rohit Shetty‘s Singham series is built around the cop universe, in the third instalment in his series, Akshay Kumar joins in as the chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad. Rohit Shetty’s films are always the “complete package” films that audiences enjoy, and now, it’s going to be super cool seeing Akshay kick some terrorist butts in the film!

Ajay Devgn

Ajay recently released the posters of his upcoming film, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, which will get a direct-to-OTT release. He exudes confidence in the role of Indian Air Force Squadron leader, Vijay Karnik. The film is set during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, when Karnik was in-charge of the Bhuj airbase. I am sure Ajay will do complete justice to the role and the story, and I can’t wait for this one!

John Abraham

In his next action thriller titled ‘Attack‘, John Abraham is set to play an army man leading a team of officers to resolve a hostage situation. The film is a fictional account based on real-life events and most of the details about it have been kept under wraps. John is a pro when it comes to such intense roles like this, and I sure want to know more about this project!

So which one of these films are you guys most excited for?
