Nothing has been the same ever since Sushant Singh Rajput‘s demise on 14th June 2020. While social media still rages with the debate of the reason why Sushant would take such a drastic step and with too much hate directed at star kids, there are others who want to pay a respectful tribute to the late actor. Among that is Sushant’s ex-girlfriend Ankita Lokhande. Recent reports in Mumbai Mirror suggest that Ankita approached TV mogul Ekta Kapoor to request her to make the second season of Pavitra Rishta as a tribute to Sushant.
For those unaware, Ankita and Sushant met on the sets of Pavitra Rishta and they were the lead pair of the show for years. The show always held a special place in Sushant’s heart as it helped him scale to greater heights and both Ekta and Ankita feel that a new season would be the best tribute to the actor.
The report suggested that Ekta liked the idea and was planning to brainstorm with her writers to see how they can take the story forward. It was Ankita who approached Ekta and since it was special show to the actress as well Ekta agreed to do it.
As for Ankita, she continued playing her character in Pavitra Rishta years after Sushant quit the show and made his Bollywood debut in Kai Po Che. The actress made her Bollywood debut alongside Kangana Ranaut in Manikarnika and was last seen in Baaghi 3. Ankita and Sushant broke up in 2016 after dating for six years.
