It’s been more than a month since actor Sushant Singh Rajput‘s shocking and untimely death. As a nation, we’re still trying to come to terms with it. But each day there is a new development that comes about. With many claiming that there is more than what meets the eye with Sushant’s sad demise, there has been an uproar for CBI to investigate the case.
Amidst all of this, a few days ago, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father Mr.K.K Singh filed an FIR against Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her family with the Patna Police. As a reply to the question as to why the family took so long to respond in any way to the investigation, his sister had said that they were waiting for the Mumbai Police to get done with their investigation. A team from Patna had also reached Mumbai to understand the case better. But soon after Sushant’s father filed an FIR, Rhea’s lawyer filed a petition in the Supreme Court to move the investigation back to the Mumbai Police and Rhea ended up applying for interim bail. There were a lot of questions raised by netizens on social media as to why Rhea would want the investigation to move back to the Mumbai police especially when she had asked for a CBI inquiry just a few weeks earlier. Rhea had taken to her Instagram to request Amit Shah for a CBI inquiry to understand why Sushant took such a drastic step.

Now, reacting to Rhea’s plea to transfer the case back to the Mumbai Police, Sushant’s family’s lawyer Vikas Singh has reportedly alleged that somebody within the Mumbai police is helping Rhea. The family lawyer was speaking to Press Trust Of India (PTI) when reacting to Rhea’s legal move.
He said:
If she has moved the apex court, she should have filed a petition seeking CBI investigation. FIR is registered in Patna, now she has filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking stay and transfer of investigation to Mumbai. Isse jyada kya proof chahiye ki somebody in Mumbai Police is helping her.
While speaking to India Today in an earlier interview, Vikas Singh had reportedly said that the Mumbai Police had asked his father to name big production houses but he refused to do so as there was no direct relation with his death. He also suggested that the family was unhappy with the way Mumbai Police was conducting the investigation. He alleged that instead of going behind Rhea, the investigation was going in a different direction.
