Janhvi Kapoor‘s much-awaited film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Gir is all set to premiere on Netflix on the 12th of August. And kick-starting its promotions, the makers dropped the trailer of the biopic today. Helmed by Sharan Sharma, the film revolves around India’s first female combat pilot, Gunjan Saxena, who entered the war zone and rescued soldiers during The Kargil War in 1999. She was awarded the Shaurya Vir award for displaying bravery and courage during the war.
The trailer gives a glimpse of how Gunjan Saxena went on to achieve her dream of becoming an Indian Air Force pilot and chronicles all the odds she had to overcome along the way.

Produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, the film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ayesha Raza & Manav Vij.
The shooting of the film began in February 2019 in Lucknow. It was previously planned to have a theatrical release on April 24 but due to the ongoing pandemic, the makers decided to release it on an OTT platform.
