Our siblings are honestly one of our very first friends, no? We grow up with them — fighting, arguing and most importantly, standing up and being there for each other through thick and thin! And it’s always great when you both you and your siblings relate to the brother-sister duos on screen, right? Some of our favourite television series have, in all these years, showcased some iconic brother-sister relationships. This Rakshabandhan, we thought, what if we look at some International series’ which have given us some of the most iconic brother-sister duos!

Check out our favourite sibling duos:

  1. Ross and Monica – F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

Ross and Monica Geller from F.R.I.E.N.D.S

While the show was all about friends who are like family, Ross and Monica were the actual siblings within the group. They showed us what a grown brother-sister relationship looks like — where they had their moments where they had silly fights and arguments, but were also the best of friends who always look out for each other. Whether it is Ross’s failed marriages, Monica’s OCS or their dance routine, they are a team, and a super cool one at that!

2. Alexis and David – Schitt’s Creek

If there is a duo that bags the prize for the most unconventional siblings, it has to be David and Alexis. They have a bond solely forged by being raised by two of the most ambivalent parents ever. While Alexis has enjoyed a life dating celebrities and escaping legal jams with her street-savvy ways, David is more moody, masking his vulnerability with sharp quips. While their sarcastic yet fun banter and insults is quite entertaining to watch, you know that deep down, they love each other, even if they would never admit it!

3. Bart and Lisa Simpson – The Simpsons

The Simpsons is a show which is hailed as one of the best shows, and that’s for how entertaining the characters on the show are! Siblings Bart and Lisa Simpson, may not be polar opposite in terms of their personality, but they are different enough to cause them to butt heads from time to time. Bart is a mischievous rebel with a sharp wit, who often disrespects authority, while Lisa is incredibly intelligent and politically aware. Like any normal bother-sister duo, they do fight, but always make up by the end of it, like we all also do!

4. Lucas and Erica – Stranger Things

Erica and Lucas’ relationship is something a lot of siblings related to! You know when your friends meet your younger sister and then suddenly she is their favourite? Yes, as a teen, it is quite irritating! Especially if you have a younger sibling who is super witty and intelligent, and actually helps solve your friends’ problems! Erica loves to speak her mind and bring in the attitude like no one else, while Lucas is more mellow. But when it is them Vs the Mind Flayer, they are a team and work so well together to help close the gate.

5. Aria and Mike – Pretty Little Liars

With a scandalous stalker ‘A’ on the loose, the four best friends from Rosewood are under constant alert, yet they also have their families to deal with. Aria and Mike are one such brother-sister duo on the show who have to deal with their parents’ separation, Aria’s stalker and Mike’s new hobby of breaking into homes. Phew, sounds tiring! But they they still find a way to support each other through all of this chaos and stick together when things start to go south.
