Yesterday, Sushant Singh Rajput‘s father, Mr K. K. Singh, released a self-made video statement. As quoted by ANI, who first shared the video, Mr Singh claimed that he had informed the Mumbai police about danger to his son’s life back in February this year. He says that because the Mumbai police didn’t act on his complaint, he had to approach the police in Bihar.

He states that after Sushant’s death on 14th June, he again approached the police, but there was no action taken on the people he had mentioned previously. He then filed an FIR in Patna, post which the police team there began investigations. He thanked the Patna police and government for taking action on his complaint and for ‘standing with the truth‘.

Responding to this claim, the Mumbai police reportedly first said that they had no information of any such complaint made on February 25th. But later, in their official statement, they said there was information, but no written complaint.

The statement, as shared by ANI, read:

Today KK Singh, father of late Sushant Singh Rajput has released a statement saying that the family had made a written complaint to Bandra Police on 25th February. It must be clarified that no such written complaint has been addressed to Bandra Police Station on that date. However. one OP Singh IPS, the brother in law of late Sushant Singh Rajput, had sent some Whatsapp messages to the then DCP Zone 9 regarding this matter. The then DCP Zone 9 had called OP Singh and requested him that a written complaint is mandatory for any enquiry or action. However, Singh wanted this to be resolved informally, to which the then DCP Zone 9 clearly told him that it was not possible.

Mr. Singh has filed a complaint against Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, for abetment to suicide, for wrongfully confining the actor and trying to usurp his assets.
