A few days ago, rumours were going around that the third instalment of Salman Khan‘s Tiger franchise will be directed by Kabir Khan. However, the filmmaker recently rubbished the news. According to a report by Mid-Day, he said, “I had to do Tiger 3, wouldn’t I have directed Tiger Zinda Hai [2017]? Sequels can be bigger and better, but as a storyteller, I don’t get excited by them”. And now, according to the publication, the YRF head honcho, Aditya Chopra has handed the director’s hat to Maneesh Sharma for the third instalment of the film.

Mid-Day quoted a trade source saying —

Adi sir wants a new director for every edition so that it has a distinct voice. The producer has finalised Maneesh as he believes he will bring a new dimension to the actioner. Adi sir and Jaideep Sahni have developed the story and screenplay. It is expected to be Salman Khan‘s biggest film in terms of scale and will be shot across various countries.

With Yash Raj Films completing its 50 years this year, it is set to make announcements of some of its ambitious projects which includes Tiger 3 under the YRF 50 project. The source also revealed that the film is likely to be announced on Yash Chopra‘s birth anniversary, which is on September 27. He also added that the plan can be altered depending on how the prevailing situation of the pandemic rolls out in the coming week.
