Sanya Malhotra is one of the most promising new talents we have in the Hindi film industry today. It’s been just four years since her spectacular debut in Dangal alongside Aamir Khan, but she’s got to work with some of the best in the industry whether it was directors or co-actors. Recently, I got to talk to her about her movie Shakuntala Devi, her run at the movies so far, and much more.

While we talked about all of these things, I had to ask her about aspiring actors who may be held back by their parents in light of the current situation. Many Indian parents have taken Sushant Singh Rajput’s shocking and untimely demise to heart, so I asked Sanya what she had to say about the whole situation. The actress rightly said that she thinks that the two can’t be related currently as it’s a huge loss that the film industry faced by losing such a gem and that the loss somehow feels personal to her. So she didn’t know how to answer the question.
