If you know me, you’d know that I eat, sleep and breathe beauty. From skincare ingredients to new product brands, launches, facial tools that probably are NSFW (or even to be used around children), I’m obsessed with the industry and love every bit of it. Which is also why I’m always testing and trying out new things. Since lockdown really slowed things down for most of us, I was totally fine with not having to put on makeup and head to an event… Because that would mean I’d get to test the products from my couch, in my PJs!

And after a couple of months, a few pimples and the 9 pm-curfew, here are 4 hair, makeup and skincare products and tools that I’ve been using and loving:

1. Nudestix, Nudies Blush in Sunkissed

I’m a sucker for any and every product that can be used in multiple ways. Which is why I was immediately attracted to this Nudestix matte blush stick. One thing you need to also know about this brand is that most of their formulas are multi-purpose ones, not to mention buildable as well… From eyeshadow sticks to their blushes, every product is creamy in formulations and just blends so well into the skin while giving off a supple glow. I used this one for all my Zoom meetings and IG Lives.

2. Aveda, Nutriplenish Shampoo & Conditioner

We all know that frizz and dryness are the most common enemies for anyone who lives in a hot and humid city. I got Aveda‘s new Nutriplenish range about a month ago, and from the 8 times (yes, I counted) that I’ve used this combo, I can tell you that it’s literally like a magic wand for reducing the dryness. While the fuzz and “frizz” is most definitely still there, the softness in regards to the texture of the hair gets increased and your hair automatically (legit automatically) feels so much softer.

3. Ohria Ayurveda, Kansa Vataki Face Massage Wand

I’m a nerd when it comes to learning about all the different ingredients, tools and products of the beauty industry. Whether it be Korean or Japanese or even ayurvedic! Fun fact, the Kansa wands is an age-old traditional Ayurvedic massage tool which was supposedly the ‘healing metal from the Harappan culture’. Made from 100% pure copper and tin, this gong-like tool claims to revitalise and plump the skin, softens fine age lines, de-puff eyes, firms the jawline and you know, all that good-good skin-boosting properties. But what really blew my mind, is that not only is this tool great for boosting collagen for the skin, but it can also nourish the hair and stimulate the follicles of the scalp along with unblocking certain negative energies to then ensure a smooth flow of prana.

4. Sukin, Detoxifying Facial Scrub

It’s rare to ever use an exfoliating scrub that leaves the skin soft and smooth—but hey! This one definitely does. For someone with sensitive/sensitised skin, exfoliating beads and granules have never been the best for my skin. And not that I have dry skin, but using these scrubs in the past would leave my skin super parched. I slowly introduced this facial scrub from Sukin into my skincare routine and it’s amazing! While I still prefer to use a more gentle face cleanser in the morning and at night, Sukin‘s scrub is great for getting out the grime and sweat that’s been built-up from the day and my workout as well!. The pineapple extract in this scrub decongests the skin, and the kale and licorice root extracts help in nourishing the cells.
