Ishaan Khatter is on a roll and how! Just a few days ago, the actor just announced his horror-comedy titled Phone Bhoot that co-stars Katrina Kaif and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Now, he took to his social media to announce another project! Titled Pippa, the film is all set to be directed by ‘Airlift’ director, Raja Krishna Menon.

Ishaan is set to essay the role of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta in this action-war drama that is set around the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The film’s title is taken from the Russian war tank PT-76, popularly known as “Pippa“. The project portrays the struggles and valour shown by Indians during that time through the tale of the many conflicts of the Mehta family. The veteran Brigadier of the 45th Cavalry tank squadron fought on the eastern front along with his siblings during the war. His story was chronicled in the book, The Burning Chaffees, which is what the film is based on. The film is co-written by Ravinder Randhawa, Tanmay Mohan and Raja Krishna Menon.

Speaking to IANS about it, Ishaan said:

I’m exhilarated to be a part of a film of such magnitude and importance. Getting to play the suave and spirited tank commander Captain Balram Mehta is a true privilege. I’m looking forward to the exciting experience of ‘Pippa’.

The film is co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP movies and Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films.
