Varun Dhawan is all set to play the lead in Raj Mehta‘s untitled romantic dramedy. The film is set to star Kiara Advani in the lead opposite him. While she starred alongside him in a guest role in Kalank, this will be their first proper outing together.

A report in Mumbai Mirror also reveals that Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor are going to come together to play Varun’s parents in the film. The report reveals that their roles in the film will include a lot of humour. While we have been seeing Anil in films, Neetu Kapoor will be a delight to watch on screen after so many years. She was last seen in Abhinav Kashyap’s, Besharam opposite her late husband, Rishi Kapoor and her son, Ranbir Kapoor.

Speaking about the film, a source informed the publication that it is set to go on floors around October-end or early November. He also cleared the air about it being a sequel to Raj’s 2019 comedy, Good Newwz, and said it is a completely different film set in North India.

On the work front for Varun, he was supposed to wrap up work on his home production, the Coolie No. 1 remake, and begin work on Sriram Raghavan‘s Ekkis in May. Ekkis is the story of the 1971 war hero, Arun Kheterpal, and included multiple war sequences to be shot on a large scale. But, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, that won’t be possible for a while now.

We sure cannot wait to see this amazing cast come together to create some magic on screen!
