The one skill I developed during the lockdown is finding movies and series that aren’t popular enough but deserve all the recognition! I’ve had such a great time finding some of the best and sometimes surprisingly unexpected content I’ve ever watched in a long time. And so, I thought what if there are other people doing this too! Maybe their suggestions could be something to try watching next. Also, I am always curious about what people from the industry themselves love binge-watching! And Chandan Roy Sanyal, told us what series/movies he’s been watching and loving lately.

A paperwalla poet called Saahir in Chippa by @safdar.bhaiya drops on @netflix_in on 1 June. Here i am lost in my lines and immersed in my back story just before a shot. A paperwala wont sit like that but i asked my director and explained what if he lounges because he is not typical. He agreed. It always helps to disconnect and forget yourself and think the unimaginable for a part. Please do watch 😊🙏🏽 – DOP : @ramarolls Production Design : @cup_o_t Costumes @baanisethi Music : Cyrill de haes Produced by @celine.loop #netflix #characters
You might know him for his breakthrough performance in the 2009 film Kaminey, his role as Batukeshwar Dutt in Rang De Basanti, and more! He’s worked in both Hindi and Bengali films and has given some stellar performances in both. And it’s always a curiosity to know what such fine actors love to binge watch on. Scroll down to check out Chandan Roy Sanyal’s list of his favourite quarantine picks!
One of the best mobsters shows ever written! It’s even better than Breaking Bad I feel.
A travel food show on Netflix by Phil Rosenthal, the creator of Everybody Loves Raymond—it’s a great one!
Another super show on street food by Chef David Chang! It’s just fantastic because it actually traces the history of food on the streets.
A limited series on CIA conspiracies—it’s a great genre-bending series where it marries docu fiction with reality.
HelloLadies by Stephen Merchant on Hotstar is a great comedy about a British man in LA. The writers are the same ones who also wrote The Office—Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg!
