Every time I look at Korean food in movies or random videos on the internet (read mukbang), it makes me want to grab that out of the screen and devour it. Kimchi is something that has been on my mind lately and I really want to try it. And so, when Vidhi Doshi a.k.a. @ramenhairedgirl made a kimchi grilled cheese sandwich, I knew I had to make it too. In case y’all feel the same way about Korean food, cheesy food, or just love sandwiches in general, be sure to check out this recipe. Looks promising and drool-worthy to me!

What You’ll Need

2 slices sourdough bread

1/3 cup mozzarella, sliced

1/4 cup finely chopped kimchi

2 tbsp grated cheddar

3 tbsp grated processed cheese

2 tbsp chopped spring onion greens

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 tsp sesame seeds

2 tbsp garlic butter

Here’s How You Can Put It All Together

Step 1: Place the bread slices on a clean plate. On one slice, place half the mozzarella.

Step 2: Now place grated cheddar and kimchi one that slice. (Tip: Squeeze out the excess liquid from kimchi to avoid making the sandwich soggy)

Step 3: Now add the spring onion greens, salt, and pepper.

Step 4: Top it with the processed cheese and the other half of the mozzarella that’s left.

Step 5: Place the other bread slice over it and spread 1 tbsp of garlic butter over it.

Step 6: Heat a pan and sprinkle the sesame seeds over it.

Step 7: Place the sandwich, buttered side down, and cook till it’s crispy.

Step 8: Spread butter on the other side as well and repeat the process. Serve hot!
