OTT platforms have become a boon to everyone with an internet connection in times like this when going out is not much of an option. With many film and TV show makers realizing that would take a while for things to go back to normal, more and more decisions to release new shows and films digitally are being made. Most of these, of course, have been shot long back.

Here’s the most recent and intriguing list of shows we’ve found all releasing on Voot Select: 

THE COMEY RULE (Scripted Drama)

Release Date: September 27th

Starring Emmy winners Jeff Daniels as former FBI Director James Comey and Brendan Gleeson as President Donald J. Trump the 2-part, 4-hour limited series is an immersive, behind-the-headlines account of the historically turbulent events around the 2016 presidential election and its aftermath, which divided a nation. THE COMEY RULE is not a biopic of one man but is instead the story of two powerful figures, Comey and Trump, whose strikingly different personalities, ethics, and loyalties put them on a collision course.

THE GOOD LORD BIRD (Scripted Drama)

Release Date: 4th October 2020

Created by and starring Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke as John Brown and Joshua Caleb Johnson (Black-ish, Animal Kingdom). The series is based on the National Book Award-winning novel by James McBride, THE GOOD LORD BIRD is told from the point of view of Onion (Johnson) a fictional enslaved boy who becomes a member of Brown’s motley family of abolitionist soldiers and eventually finds himself participating in the famous 1859 raid at Harpers Ferry. THE GOOD LORD BIRD uniquely and unpredictably spotlights the complicated racial, religious and gender roles that make up the American identity.

The Comedy Store (Docuseries) 

Release Date: 4th October 2020

The five-part docuseries from comedian-turned-director Mike Binder’ will include vintage performances and interviews with some of the many comics who honed their acts at the legendary club featuring behind the scene footage and interviews from world-renowned standup comedians including David Letterman, Robin Williams, Jay Leno, Whitney Cummings amongst others. The trailer will be releasing shortly.

The Reagan (Docuseries) 

Release Date: 15th November 2020

This 4-part documentary series explores the many surprisingly unexamined aspects of the Reagan White House, and how Nancy Reagan’s paper-doll image was at odds with the power she ultimately wielded throughout her husband’s presidency.
