Quarantine and social distancing norms have definitely made people try a variety of things. Some are cooking, some are dancing and some are turning into professional photographers for renowned magazines! One such example is of the fabulous sister-duo Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt who were featured on the September issue of ELLE India. While Alia was the cover star, Shaheen was the paparazzo. But apart from playing the role of a photographer, Shaheen also played the role of a writer. She wrote a heartfelt letter addressed to Alia in the cover story. The two had a gala time whilst playing dress-up and shooting for the digital cover, which is evident from the scenes behind the cover. 1. In Amit Aggarwal
For the cover look, the Sadak 2 actor modelled in a stunning red dress by Amit Aggarwal. Colour-blocked with a classic combination of red and pink, the dress was moulded in a pleats-like pattern at the front and loosely cinched with a pink belt. Tropical juxtaposed with party-ready as the theme of this look, Alia went with a no-makeup look. Muted pink lips and mildly wet hair rounded off look number 1.
2. In Saaksha and Kinni
For look number 2, Alia notched up the tropical factor and picked a breezy, maxi dress by designer duo Saaksha and Kinni. The three-tiered dress featured a cross bustier and a beautiful, ikat, floral print. The multi-coloured dress—think orange, red, brown and blue—was perfectly in tandem with the location of the shoot. The outfit, the makeup, everything will definitely make you want to take a vacation to a tropical country. In the beauty department, the actor went dewy, yet again. She tucked a dainty, white bloom behind her ear and left her beach waves open.
3. In Payal Khandwala and Chola
Taking a break from dresses, ELLE India‘s September cover star picked a lush green, cropped-top made by Payal Khandwala. The high-neck blouse featured micro pleats that the actor teamed with dapper, black, oversized pants by Chola. The pants featured a bow at the waist that Alia used to further cinch her waist. This time, she tied her hair in a messy bun and glammed up her look with stacked bracelets.
4. In Dior
Caught candid by sister Shaheen, Alia’s look was rather romantic but with a twist. This time, the actor wore a suit—an ivory waistcoat with formal trousers. She cuffed the hems of the pants and teamed her formal look with black, netted stockings. A black, leather, beret hat added a finishing touch to her look.

5. In Amit Aggarwal
Sprucing things up for the photoshoot, Alia took a dive in the pool in a creation by Amit Aggarwal. The dress from the designer’s spring/summer 2020 collection, AXIL, featured dramatic, flowy drapes as the bust that formed the neckline as well. The silhouette also saw the designer’s signature three-dimensional cord detailing. From the waist below, the dress featured a centre-slit with a ruched effect on the sides.
