Recently the makers of Kasautii Zindagii Kay announced that the last episode of the popular TV soap will air on October 3. The news came after Parth Samthaan, who plays the role of Anurag Basu, decided to quit the show to concentrate on other projects. Now, according to a report by MidDay, the unit sources say that the actor has claimed that he has landed a good role in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-helmed, Gangubai Kathiawadi, which stars Alia Bhatt in the titular role.

The publication further reported that Parth has been talking to people from the unit about starting the prep for the film as soon as possible.

Parth has, for a while now, been expressing his inclination towards quitting television. Last month, talking to a media portal in a live session, Parth had revealed that there is a good chance that he will be doing a film this year.

Gangubai Kathiawadi stars Alia Bhatt in the titular role. It’s based on the book, ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’, written by Hussain Zaidi. It chronicles the life of a brothel owner and matriarch, Gangubai Kothewali. The film is touted to be high on drama and intensity and will tell the story of her journey from the streets of Mumbai to becoming the city’s most feared woman.

We sure are excited about this news and can’t wait to know more about it!
