News of Sanjay Dutt being diagnosed with lung cancer came as a shock to all his fans and loved ones. He had put out a statement that he is taking a break from work to concentrate on his medical treatment. Recently, he also procured a five-year US visa on medical grounds to receive treatment in a medical facility there.

Now, before he leave for the US, the actor decided to complete his patch work shoot for his film. Just yesterday, he was spotted at Yash Raj Studios. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, he was there to finish off his portions in the action-adventure period film, Shamshera, where he plays the antagonist alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The film, directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Yash Raj Films, also stars Vaani Kapoor and is a story about a dacoit tribe and their fight for independence from the British.

The source says that the film has been halted for more than six months now due to the COVID-19 induced lockdown and that Sanjay didn’t want to delay the shoot further. Sanjay is said to have taken all the necessary precautions and followed the SOPs on set. Further, talking to the publication, the source added that the actor was thrilled to be back on sets and gave one shot after the other.

The last month has been very hectic for the Dutt’s. His sisters — Priya and Namrata Dutt — have constantly been by his side and have been the ones accompanying him to doctor appointments and preliminary treatment sessions to the Kokilaben and Lilavati hospitals in Mumbai. His wife, Maanayata Dutt and children, Shahraan and Iqra Dutt, were stuck in Dubai owing to the coronavirus lockdown. But they have joined him right now and will travel with him to the US very soon.
