When you have Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Mamoa and other celebrated actors coming together for an epic sci-fi film, it’s bound to be one amazing ride, amirite? And that’s what it seems like from the looks of their film, Dune‘s trailer! We caught a glimpse of the vast desert planet, Arrakis, and all the action that’s going to take place in there in this new adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic 1965 science fiction novel, Dune.
The film is set in the desert planet of Arrakis, also known as Dune, which becomes the central location in the galactic battle because it is the only source of the “spice” melange that is essential for time-travel and extending human life, both of which are very vital in their dystopian universe. Dune is set to be directed by Denis Villeneuve, who has previously helmed films like Arrival and Blade Runner 2049. Apart from Timothee, Zendaya and Jason, the film also boasts of an epic cast consisting of Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, and Javier Bardem, among others.
In the film, Timothee plays Paul Atreides, the heir to the House Atreides. His father, Duke Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac) is offered the stewardship of the planet, Dune. This film is set to cover only the first half of the book, with the other half will be covered in the planned sequel.

The film, produced by Warner Bros, is said to be aiming for a theatrical release on December 18. With all the larger-than-life elements, the dystopian aura and the amazing actors in frame, I sure am super excited to catch this film!
