Post the thunderous response to Delhi Crime headlined by Shefali Shah, the makers had briskly begun work on its second edition. The unit was conducting the last schedule in Delhi when the nationwide lockdown in March forced them to call it off and march back home. Six months since, as the entertainment industry begins to kickstart work it is heard that directors Rajesh Mapuskar and Tanuj Chopra informed the team that the remaining portions of the police procedural will be shot in a studio in Mumbai.

According to a report by MidDay, a source was quoted as saying—

The makers have begun working on the logistics, including getting dates from Shefali and the rest of the cast. They are eyeing to go on floors by the month-end.

The report also suggested that real-life IAS officer Abhishek Singh has also joined the cast.

Shefali Shah who was joined with Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain and Rajesh Tailang in the second edition, confirmed the development of the series. She said, “I have only two to three days’ shoot pending. My portion will be filmed in Mumbai later this month.”

Helmed by Richie Mehta, the crime-drama is based on a Delhi gang-rape case, it chronicles the journey of the Delhi Police investigation into hunting men who perpetrated the crime.
