In this series, we bring to you your favourite celebrities’ current binge-watch list! So, if you’re looking for recommendations on what to watch next or want to know what genre your favourite celebrities are into and why they recommend it, these blogs will tell you just that.

If you’re a true binge-watcher, you must have already finished watching Indian Matchmaking on Netflix. And if you ask me, one of my favourite people from the show was hands down, Aparna Shewakramani. Aparna is a no-nonsense person who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to say it. She has a strong personality and I agreed with her approach to everything during the show. And so, I thought it would be really cool to know from the girl we’ve been binge-watching what she’s been hooked onto watching lately. Aparna Shewakramani happily agreed to share her top 5 favourite picks from what she’s currently watching. Scroll down to check out our favourite girl’s recommendations!

1. Down To Earth

Where: Netflix

I am always looking for a new travel show to binge, and Down to Earth is the perfect watch! Actor Zac Efron travels around the world with a wellness expert giving the viewers a chance to experience various sustainable ways of living. Not only is it timely as we consider how to be kinder to the planet we live in, it also further inspired my own travel company, My Golden Balloon, to look more into eco=friendly tourism options for our clients.

2. A Suitable Girl

Where: Amazon Prime Video

If you love Indian Matchmaking, take out an evening to experience its roots in Smriti Mundra’s documentary A Suitable Girl. This award-winning look at three women in India navigating the matchmaking process is an eye-opening look into arrange marriage. It also features Sima Taparia herself as the mother of one of these brides-to-be.

3. Love, Guaranteed

Where: Netflix

This Netflix original feature is the rom-com we have been waiting for this season. And for me, the plot’s focus on a female lawyer who is suing a dating app for her good looking client was just plain fun—I could certainly relate to the career woman who is single and bumbling through dating herself. (No spoilers, but you can imagine how this ends!)

4. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Where: Amazon Prime Video

With a fourth season recently announced, now is the time to dive right into The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I always love a storyline that follows a strong woman as she figures out her own hidden talents and gains independence along her journey. This show is light-hearted but still has underlying themes that will leave you chatting with your friends for days.

5. Get Organized With The Home Edit

Where: Netflix

I adored Marie Kondo and her series where she tidied up Americans’ homes across the country and was waiting for another show to fill its gap. Enter Get Organized where two women help celebrities and ordinary people get their personal spaces in order. It’s a feel-good show that leaves you hopeful for your own pandemic projects on the back burner!
