Shahid Kapoor Reportedly Takes A Pay Cut For The Makers Of ‘Jersey’

After the COVID-19 pandemic that led to the lockdown and in turn, leading to the cancellation of all the shoots, the economy seems to subside. And due to this financial crunch, several actors have taken a cut in their payments for their work. Now, according to a report by Pinkvilla, actor Shahid Kapoor has done the same for his upcoming film, Jersey.

According to the portal, a source was quoted as saying—

Shahid had previously signed Jersey on two conditions – a remuneration of Rs 33 crore and a percentage in the profit share. The makers had mutually agreed on the same demands and the film shoot was on when the Covid outbreak caused a temporary pause in the film’s schedule.In the last few months, the whole perspective of making a film and its budget has changed considerably. So the producers requested their lead star to take a pay cut, to keep the project on floors. They felt the film will otherwise go over-budget.The source further revealed that Shahid has cut his fees by a whopping Rs 8 crore and is now charging them Rs 25 crore. The latter is also very confident about the film’s success. The source also said that the producers have not changed his profit-sharing clause at all.The film starring Shahid and Mrunal Thakur will soon resume the shooting in Dehradun and Chandigarh. Directed by, the film will see Shahid playing the character of a cricketer.
