Ali Fazal is all set to headline the official adaptation of the novel, Codename: Johnny Walker. The Hollywood war drama is based on the New York Times bestseller book by the same name.

The book has been written by Alan Wenkus and the writing of the movie has been in the works since 2015.

Ali is currently waiting for the release of his international film, Death On The Nile this month. Helmed by Kenneth Branagh’s the movie also stars Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer among others.

The actor is also currently in the middle of promoting his show, Mirzapur Season 2 which is all set to premiere on October 23. In a conversation with GQ Magazine, he spoke about his latest project.

Once the coronavirus pandemic eases out Ali will be jetting off to LA to start shooting for his film.

The actor was quoted saying in the magazine, “People [in the West] are now more open to writing parts that can have actors cast from across the canvas,” mentioning British writer, rapper, and actor Riz Ahmed. “This is very hard to do because you have to get geography out of your head and naturally, not all movies can do that – an Indian film about a farmer in the hinterland can’t cast Tom Cruise.”
