In 2018, Tabu was seen in Andhadhun playing the role of a cold-blooded wife who kills her own husband along with her lover. The Sriram Raghavan‘s film was a game of cat and mouse between her and a musician she thinks is visually impaired. It was both a critical and commercial success whose finale was much discussed and debated on social media.

The Ayushmann Khurrana and Radhika Apte starrer is now being remade in many South Indian languages and one of them is Tamil. And now according to a report by Times of India the makers of the film have approached Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to reprise Tabu’s role. The Tamil remake is being helmed by Mohan Raja. The publication quoted a source as saying, “Raja was held up with a few things, and so, Thiagarajan approached Fredrick to direct the film.”

The source further added that Fredrick was approached right after his Ponmagal Vandhaal hit the theatres. The team is now chalking out plans to kickstart shooting from December, in Pondicherry.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Atul Manjrekar‘s Fanney Khan in 2018. The film also starred Rajkummar Rao and Anil Kapoor among others.
