South Indian superstar, Prabhas has announced a donation of Rs. 1.5 crores to the Telangana CM Relief Fund to help those who were affected by the recent Hyderabad floods. Extremely heavy rains affected Telangana throughout the past monsoon season that have killed, injured and displaced lakhs of people. A lot of damage has also been done to the state and it’s infrastructure.

According to records, almost 70 people have died due to the rains in the past week itself and nearly 37,000 have had to be displaced from low lying areas to government relief camps. This is the worst bout of rainfall to hit Telangana since 1908.

Prabhas is no stranger to philanthropy. In 2020, he has made multiple charitable donations. He has previously donated Rs. 50 lakhs each, to both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, for Covid-19 aid. He also donated Rs. 3 crore towards the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. He has always pledged to help those in need and his donations have positively affected the welfare of many people.

Along with Prabhas, multiple prominent personalities have also pledged to donate to the Telangana CM Relief Fund. Chiranjeevi and Mahesh Babu have donated Rs. 1 crore each. Akkineni Nagarjuna and Jr. NTR plan to donate Rs. 50 lakhs each. Actor Vijay Deverakonda also committed to a donation of Rs. 10 lakhs.

It is extremely heart-warming to see the South Indian film fraternity coming together to provide aid and help to those affected by these horrible floods. In times of crisis, they have shown their true colours, and it is beautiful to see. We hope their efforts can alleviate the pain and suffering caused by these terrible floods.
