Dil Bechara was a film that was loved dearly and was very special for a lot of reasons. It was Sushant Singh Rajput‘s last film before his unfortunate death this year in June. It was director Mukesh Chhabra‘s debut film as a director. It was also actress Sanjana Sanghi‘s debut film as the female lead. It got a super warm response from everyone post its release, and the sweetest one has to be from author John Green.

Dil Bechara was adapted from the John Green novel, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’. Sanjana played Kizzie Basu a.k.a Hazel Grace Lancaster from the novel. After watching Dil Bechara the day it released, Mr. Green took the effort to personally message Sanjana and tell her what he thought of the film, and even expressed his regret about the tragic death of the talented actor, Sushant. He appreciated her work in the film and thanked her for breathing life into it.

Sanjana took to her Instagram to share the message, saying she couldn’t believe she missed this message from three months ago. And clearly, she was over the moon to hear such lovely words from the author himself. She wrote, “Thank you for these unfathomable words John. I will simply never be able to articulate what this means to me. It takes away so much heartache and pain.”
