We may be in the midst of a pandemic but there’s nothing that can dampen the Indian festive spirit. Toned-down gusto needn’t mean that one can’t dress their best even if the celebrations are mostly at-home. And guests are being entertained virtually. However, thankfully, the lockdown has eased down considerably. Now, with the onset of festive season, movement—out and about—has been on a rise. November 4th, 2020 was observed as Karvachauth and the festival saw some Bollywood stars celebrating it from home and some with their close friends and family. The celebratory enthusiam was on the low given the situation, but fashion definitely wasn’t, as shown by your favourite stars who celebrated the festivites dressed to the T! Missed to see who wore what? Scroll below for all the details!

1. Kajol Devgan

Kajol posted a series of pictures of herself and titled them ‘The Hunger Game’ series which showed the actor in 5 different Karvachauth moods. The images saw Kajol donning a stunning, striking red saree from Fabiana that came with a thin embellished border. She teamed her six-yard drape with a strappy blouse that was adorned with gold beads. A gold choker, a pair of jhumkas and a red chuda all from Jolukkas were her accessory picks for the occasion.

2. Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Priyanka celebrated Karvachauth from her home in California. The globetrotter opted for a bright red, ruffled saree from Jade By Monica and Karishma. She paired her saree with a strappy gold blouse, keeping her look minimal. Accessory wise, Priyanka opted for a statement ring, silver bangles, pearl-shaped diamond earrings and her mangalsutra.

3. Shilpa Shetty Kundra

Shilpa celebrated this auspicious occasion by picking a super traditional red saree from House of Masaba that came with foil-printed blooms. Shilpa’s elegance in this saree was unmatched and she looked like a new-age bride. She completed her festive look with diamond studs, a polki necklace and chuda set. A gold potli that matched the gold blooms on the saree tied her look together.

4. Raveena Tandon

Raveena took to her Instagram to share a small message on how she’s celebrating the festival this year. In the picture she shared, Raveena is seen wearing a beautiful red gharara set that she picked from Gopi Vaid. Posing against the foliage backdrop from her house in Dalhousie, Raveena’s festive outfit really stood out for its vibrant colour and the tasteful zardozi work. She teamed her outfit with a statement maangtikka and jhumkas to keep the look minimal yet statement-making.

5. Kareena Kapoor Khan

Unlike the other stars who were seen opting for ensembles with heavy decoration, Kareena went for a lightweight outfit. Her pick: a blush pink kurta-chudidar from Gulaabo. The actor’s outfit came with a leafy print in white. Keeping her look minimal and fuss-free, the mom-to-be skipped on any heavy accessories and only wore a pair of gold hoops, a diamond ring a gold watch.

6. Bipasha Basu Grover

Like Raveena, Bipasha also opted for a Gopi Vaid creation. She picked a vermillion sharara set for her at-home festivities. The kurta came with a bandhani-like print all-over, while the neck was decorated with intricate embroidery. The kurta was teamed with a tiered sharara and a sheer dupatta with a gota  border. The actor glammed up her look with a pair of statement jhumkas—a popular choice amongst stars for Karvachauth; a flat, round-shaped ring and a set of bangles, all from Azotiique.

7. Sonali Bendre

Unlike most stars who went for ensembles in shades of red, Sonali celebrated the festival in a fuchsia pink kurta set from Brih. The actor’s minimalistic outfit came with dainty zari details and dabka embroidery. A sheer pink dupatta added just the finishing touch to her look. In the accessory department as well, Sonali kept it minimal and fuss-free. A pair of silver, round-shaped earrings rounded off her look.

Happy Karwa Chauth to those celebrating ❤️ I have always found rituals and traditions like these to be very comforting. In my sphere of things, they are in many ways a bridge between the old and the new ways of thinking and living. Rather than be averse and antipathetic, I have always looked at how to evolve and adapt for a more harmonious way of life. Every year, I celebrate Karwa Chauth with my family and friends. This ritual brings a new colour to my relationships, especially with my mother-in-law. It's become a tradition to celebrate it together and I actually look forward to the day and what it entails, especially when we all come together. For me, it’s about this sisterhood we have created, being grateful for the beautiful bond my husband and I share and of course the opportunity to be pampered throughout the day. Do what makes you happy!
