Diwali, the festival of lights, is derived from the Sanskrit word Deepavali, meaning ‘row of lights’. The festival symbolizes light over darkness. Each year, we try to spend the festive season volunteering at a school for underprivileged kids. Since most schools are closed at the minute, we are sending care packages with stationery and sweets to as many of them as we possibly can. Other than that, we are really looking forward to celebrating Diwali at home with our family. Since we can’t go out much we are bringing the party home with a feast, card games, and experimental cocktails.

This time Diwali is different, it’s more like a reminder of keeping well and being with family. Diwali this year, has taught us all the value of family and relatives, the value of love and affection and the value of mental and physical well-being. So this year, I am celebrating Diwali with my family! Not bursting crackers but donating some new clothes to the ones who cannot afford to buy luxury. Distributing sweets to all our helpers and their family members like the watchmen, the drivers, the sweepers and everyone who stood strong this year. This Diwali is about “Love and Hope” for me!
