Each year, we try to spend the festive season volunteering at a school for underprivileged kids. Since most schools are closed at the minute, we are sending care packages with stationery and sweets to as many of them as we possibly can. Other than that, we are really looking forward to celebrating Diwali at home with our family. Since we can’t go out much we are bringing the party home with a feast, card games, and experimental cocktails.

This Diwali, it is going to be an intimate affair for me, with my closest friends at one of our homes. While I’m looking forward to celebrating with them, we’re going to keep things small to be socially responsible and stick to the bubble we’ve created.
My Diwali plans are always fixed. Inviting a few of my close friends, cooking some good food for them like Dal Makhani, Chicken Biryani, Palak Meat and much more. Along with delicious food, we will also cards and spend time together.
Diwali has always been fun to celebrate with your near and dear ones. Ever since the lockdown, I have been waiting to celebrate and meet my fam. I’ll just be going back to Delhi to celebrate with my fam and friends. This year has been quite slow and different in every manner, hope this Diwali brings love, light and happiness in everyone’s lives. Super pumped to meet everyone.

So this Diwali, I’ve planned to spend it with my closest knit people. Not entertaining a crowd as I have in the past, considering Covid. Obviously because I have a dog, firecrackers are a ‘BIG NO’. This time Diwali is different, it’s more like a reminder of keeping well and being with family. Diwali this year, has taught us all the value of family and relatives, the value of love and affection and the value of mental and physical well-being. So this year, I am celebrating Diwali with my family! Not bursting crackers but donating some new clothes to the ones who cannot afford to buy luxury. Distributing sweets to all our helpers and their family members like the watchmen, the drivers, the sweepers and everyone who stood strong this year. This Diwali is about “Love and Hope” for me!

Diwali for me has always been about spending time with my family. Ever since my sister got married, it’s up to me now to help mom decorate the entire house, make it look all pretty and festive! I love it, to be honest, some Jagjit Singh ghazals, sweets and snacks rolling in all day and before you know it, it’s Diwali for you! Although this year has been quite isolating and I have a feeling I’m gonna be missing my friends a lot, I hope to catch up with all of them sooner or later. Nevertheless, I wish for you to have a lovely time, Happy Diwali!
