Diwali 2020 was yet another testament to this well-established fact. Even though the celebrations were slightly different this year, think more intimate and less gusto, the prevailing style memo seemed to be ‘more is more’. 1. Katrina Kaif

Katrina’s saree is for anyone that loves to have a good amount of pink in their festive wardrobe. The fuchsia pink Raw Mango drape featured a sumptuous brocade border. The actor completed her look with a pair of gold earrings adorned with pearls, leaving her six-yard to take centre stage. The standout hue of the saree is what made it a comfortable and a statement-making outfit!

2. Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone was spotted visiting Siddhant Chaturvedi for Diwali celebrations at his residence. For the occasion, the star—who was also joined by Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday—wore an ivory Ritika Mirchandani set. A jacket-kurta teamed with floor-grazing sharara pants. The hand-embellished set bore intricate, tonal beadwork and sequins that jazzed up the outfit, effortlessly. Deepika toned down on accessories and only wore chunky diamond studs from Mahesh Notandass and a carried a beige-hued clutch to complete the look.

3. Alia Bhatt

Alia’s festive mood board seemed to lean heavily towards shades of pink. She kickstarted Diwali ’20 in a baby pink lehenga set from Madhurya. The lightweight ensemble featured playful, embroidered flora and fauna motifs designed by 13 children and 13 craftsmen that took the designs from paper to reality. The balmy lehenga set came with a sheer pink dupatta and tied the look together, seamlessly. Instead of going for gold accessories, Alia added silver accents to her look via silver jewellery. Minimalistic jhumkis and kadas completed her festive look!

4. Sara Ali Khan

Sara looked like royalty in her palatial purple kurta set made by the talented Manish Malhotra. The ensemble is from his recent collection, Ruhaaniyat and comes decorated with antique zardozi embroidery on the sleeves and the border of the kurta. A sheer, lime dupatta with an equally heavy border rounded off her look. Sara accessorised her look with a pair of statement chaandbalis and matching juttis from Fizzy Goblet.

5. Anushka Sharma

The mom-to-be stayed true to her sartorial roots—minimal and classic for Diwali this year. Her pick? An ivory anarkali crafted by designer Anita Dongre. The modest and minimalistic ensemble bore gold accents on the bodice, while the rest of the body of the kurta was covered in tonal embroidery. Anushka layered the kurta-chudidar with a dupatta that added the perfect finishing touch to her look. A set of shoulder-sweeping chaandbalis and ivory Fizzy Goblet juttis injected that glamorous vibe to her festive look.

6. Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Posing alongside Nick Jonas is Priyanka in a dreamy Sabyasachi saree. Dipped in shades of tangerine, the Sabyasachi number featured bold blooms and occasional, green, leafy motifs. The balmy saree is an ideal amalgamation of comfort and style and is perfect for at-home festivities. A set of neon pink bangles, a quirky ring and jadau earrings completed Priyanka’s Diwali 2020 look, that the actor spent in London.

7. Karisma Kapoor

Sitting in her favourite space at home—the balcony—Karisma smiled for the camera in a lovely Ridhiiee Suuri kurta-sharara set. The kurta came in a stunning fuchsia pink hue and was complemented with white sharara pants and a dupatta. The balmy pants and the dupatta saw printed blooms in refreshing greens and blues. Keeping in with the minimal tone of the outfit, the actor skipped on statement jewellery. She completed her look with a gold bangle and delicate gold earrings along with embellished, gold juttis from Fizzy Goblet.

8. Shilpa Shetty Kundra

Shilpa looked radiant as ever in her Anita Dongre sharara set in a romantic blush pink hue. The playful set was decorated in delicate floral embroidery and tassels making it an ensemble apt for festive parties at home. Shilpa rounded off her Diwali outfit with a statement jadau choker with pearl details along with a matching maangtikka from Anita Dongre Pinkcity.

9. Nushrratt Bharuccha

Nushrratt swirled in her all-white anarkali from Rhua as she posed for her mini, festive photoshoot at home. Exuding elegance, the actor’s classic white kurta set was decorated with minimal tonal embroidery in floral motifs. She added silver accents to her Diwali outfit with accessories from  Amrapali. Silver earrings and bangles completed her outfit for the day.

10. Bhumi Pednekar

The Pati Patni Aur Woh star kicked off her Diwali celebrations with an elegant, tone-on-tone saree. The royal purple drape came with gold, micro-sized, block-printed blooms, while the thick pink border of the saree featured brocade detailing. Bhumi accessorised her look with gold chaandbalis, a Bollywood-favourite, stacked bangles and a pearl-encrusted ring, looking like a traditional Marathi Mulgi.

11. Swara Bhaskar

Swara opted for a stunning Rahul Mishra creation for Diwali 2020—a mint green lehenga set. The ensemble featured the designer’s signature 3D hand-embroidery in micro-sized floral motifs. Lively hues like red, blue, orange and muted pink stood out beautifully against the muted green backdrop of the lehenga and choli. Swara tied the look together with a matching dupatta—a sheer, organza number with an intricately embellished, scalloped border. An encrusted choker, a dainty maangtikka, a statement ring and a kada were her jewellery picks to complete the look.

12. Malvika Mohanan

Nothing screams festive season like a traditional, scarlet outfit! Keeping that in mind, Malvika opted for a floor-grazing anarkali set by RI – Ritu Kumar. The swirly number was elevated using intricate embellishments, think zari details, beadwork and tiny, sewn-sequins and a mix of chevron print with diamond motifs. Malvika looked to statement polki jhumkis to add that finishing touch to her Diwali 2020 outfit!

13. Pooja Hegde

Diwali 2020 looked glossy and sumptuous for Pooja who donned a Manish Malhotra creation for the celebrations. A glimmering, lime green and iris kurta-chudidar enhanced using intricate zardozi work on the border. A sheer lilac dupatta with an elaborately embellished border tied the look together making an effortless case for colour-blocking. Statement, mint green earrings and a striking magenta cocktail ring spruced up her look, further!

14. Nora Fatehi

Nora’s Diwali 2020 look spelt royalty if nothing more! Dressed head-to-toe in Tarun Tahiliani, Nora’s ivory lehenga set came covered in tonal dori embroidery and mukaish work. She layered her extravagant outfit with an elegant dupatta and belted it at the waist with an OTT belt. Keeping up with the maximalist vibe of the outfit, the dancer further spruced up her look with a statement emerald necklace, earrings, bangles and an elaborate hair accessory.

15. Kajal Aggarwal

The newly married Kajal Aggarwal looked to JADE By Monica and Karishma for her Diwali outfit. An intricately hand-embroidered, ivory anarkali. The floor-kissing number flaunted its rich use of lace-work and 3D embroidery in a variety of traditional motifs. A sheer, net dupatta with a lace border tied the actor’s outfit together, that she elevated further with diamond studs and rings.
