Alaya F made her debut this year with the film, Jawaani Jaaneman co-starring Saif Ali Khan and Tabu. The film also starred Chunky Panday and Kubbra Sait and was directed by Nitin Kakkar. Given it was her first time on the big screen, people had many expectations from her as until then, they only knew her as Pooja Bedi‘s daughter. But Alaya made sure she held her own throughout the film and was such a breath of fresh air! She certainly was the star of the film and when all eyes were on the critics’ and audiences’ opinions, it was nothing but words of praise that they had for the young actress.
She also won her first award as the Debutante Of The Year recently! Speaking about the enormous love and praise she got for her performance, Alaya shared in an interview which she gave right after the film’s release that she actually wanted to find a review that said she was bad in the film!
Here’s what she said:
I mean, since the release everything has been overwhelming. I remember there was this moment where I felt that this is not possible that I’ve gotten so many good reviews, I was like there has to be something bad, some critic must have said something because I’m quite critical about myself. I went on youtube and other social media trying to find a bad review of myself that one person has to just slam me and tear me apart, to strike a balance to make it real, otherwise it felt like a dream.
She further added, “I went hunting for a bad review and I thought that was quite a funny moment. It was so overwhelming that I had to do that. I really enjoyed doing that but still couldn’t find one”. Now, this something we haven’t heard an actor say they gave done before, amirite?
Another thing that a lot of us would have noticed is how the actress knows just how to carry herself and project and articulate her thoughts and opinions to the world outside. Well, and her social media and her interviews are proof of that.
Though she is just one film old, the actress has gained lots of fans through her super fun personality on Instagram. She sure likes to keep everyone entertained and finds some unique ways to do so! During the lockdown, she came up with fun videos under the series, #AlayaAF, and we sure are hooked onto the super entertaining and real content she puts out!
Alaya may rightly be the actress with the best debut performance this year and we cannot wait to see all the things that she has in store for us!
