Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty are sure one duo who know just the right recipe for entertainment, no? After working on Simmba together, they are set to reunite with each other yet again with Cirkus.

The film is said to be an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Comedy Of Errors, which was previously adapted in Bollywood with the film ‘Angoor‘ (1982). Cirkus also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez and Varun Sharma in pivotal roles and will have Ranveer essay a double role. And now, according to a Bollywood Hungama report, we just got to know that this Ranveer Singh-starrer is going to be a comedy set in the 60s.

Speaking about it to Bollywood Hungama, a source said:

Since the film is a comedy of error that results from mistaken identity due to the double role of two characters in the film, Rohit and his team decided to set the film in an era that was devoid of mobile phones and all other modern gadgets. After contemplating on the time frame, they finally zeroed in on 1967 as the era to be recreated in Cirkus.

Given it is going to be set in an era that is bygone, getting the costumes and sets of that time right is very important.

The source further states:

Though a comedy, Rohit is very particular about the costumes, look and attire of all his characters in the film as the feel and appearances lends to a lot of humour. It’s an out and out comedy, and will drive people crazy Rohit Shetty style but from the vintage era of Hindi cinema.

Adding to this, the source says that we will be seeing Ranveer in a never-seen-before avatar in this film, and I sure can’t wait for it!

While the team is already shooting for the first schedule of the film in Mumbai, they are soon set to leave to Goa and Ooty for the upcoming schedules.

Produced by Reliance Entertainment, T-Series and Rohit Shetty Picturez, the film is looking at a Winter 2021 release.
