In this series, we bring to you your favourite celebrities’ current binge-watch list! So, if you’re looking for recommendations on what to watch next or want to know what genre your favourite celebrities are into and why they recommend it, these blogs will tell you just that.

This week’s binge-watch recommendations are from one of the most versatile actors who is underrated for his skills—Neil Bhoopalam! We’ve seen his work in web series’ and films like Lust Stories, Four More Shots, Masaba Masaba, NH10, Shaitaan, No One Killed Jessica, and many more. And we wanted to know what shows and movies have been keeping him glued to the internet these days. His list is super interesting and if you’re looking to start watching something new, then scroll down to check out what Neil recommends!

1. The Mandalorian

Where: Disney+ Hotstar

Why I like the Mandalorian is because it’s a Star Wars Franchise and my brother Mahesh was a huge fan of Star Wars. I never got into it until one day, years later I stayed up. We had a DVD collection of 4 films and I watched them back to back and then I was like, how awesome is this world of Star Wars! So when I started watching The Mandalorian—it’s just very interesting to have that kind of a space, to be in that kind of a world that was created so long ago.

2. The Queen’s Gambit

Where: Netflix

Its my most recently watched series and I highly recommend it! The way they have portrayed a child genius and the world of chess is just outstanding.

3. Masha And The Bear

Where: Netflix

My son Fateh actually watches Masha and the Bear—a Russian cartoon that’s dubbed in English, and I join his watch party because why not! If you’ve got a kid at home then I’d recommend you watch it with them too.

4. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

Where: Amazon Prime Video

I think it’s just fantastic how Quentin Tarantino takes the liberty to tweak what we know of the past and I think he started doing that with Inglorious Bastards where in the end you see what happens to Hitler. Knowing that I watched that movie so long ago, what he did over there to then tweak the real story in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, how he took creative liberty and changed it. I can’t explain it to the few people who haven’t seen it as it would mess it up. I think he makes the most of creative liberties honestly!

5. Paatal Lok

Where: Amazon Prime Video

It’s a very skilled piece of work. Obviously, I know the makers because I have worked with them on NH10 but when I actually watched it, I think it’s like this very well executed jigsaw puzzle and I know they have done a copious amount of work on the script and how they want to design each scene and how they have designed each character’s graphs. One of my favourite scenes is when Jaideep and Gul Panag in their characters are having a bit of altercation. The scene starts with a jhaapad and ends with a jhaapad. That was made so well, it was like a musical composition! Special mention to that, the timing of that scene!
