Rajinikantstarrer Annaathee has created quite a lot of excitement among his fans all over. Post the nation-wide lockdown, celebrities and film crews have resumed work on their projects with maximum precautions. Rajinikant also started work on the next schedule of Annathee in Hyderabad last week. But unfortunately, a few members on the sets of the film tested positive for COVID-19, hence halting the shoot.

Annaathee is said to be a rural drama which is set to be directed by Siruthai Siva. The team was filming at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and it was supposed to be a 45 day-schedule. As he is all set to take the plunge into politics soon, he wanted to finish the filming of the project at the earliest. In a media interaction, he said that there was around 40% of the shoot left to complete. Now, he is set to return to Chennai today or tomorrow.

The film also stars Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Meena and Khushbhu in key roles. Previously, Rajinikanth was seen in A R Murugadoss‘s Darbar where he played an angry cop set out to avenge his daughter’s death.

Now that eight crew members from the set have tested positive, the makers need to make sure everything is under control and all the safety guidelines are in check for the superstar to return to sets.
