The COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown postponed Ajay Devgn’s ‘Chanakya’ and put it on the back-burner. Writer-lyricist Manoj Muntashir has now opened up about the film. He said that it is very much on the cards.
Talking about the same, he told a news portal that the Neeraj Panday directorial has been delayed due to the pandemic. Ajay only kick-started shooting for films in November and will wrap up his prior commitments before jumping on this project. He added that they are expected to roll in the last quarter of 2021.

Muntashir further elaborated that the film is based on the ancient Indian philosopher. According to him, the film demands Ajay to don a bald look and also implies that he cannot juggle his shoot with other films. He clarified by saying that the film, which seems worthy of being an Oscar-entry, is too special to be put on the back-burner.

Manoj Muntashir went on to say that Neeraj and he travelled across the country, including Bihar, where Pataliputra (now, Patna) is situated, as part of the research.

Ajay Devgn was last seen in Om Raut’s ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ which also featured Saif Ali Khan and Kajol in pivotal roles.
