‘I Was Nervous To Share Screen Space With Deepika Padukone’ — Siddhant Chaturvedi

Shubanka Sridhar

If there is one on-screen pair I am super excited to see, it has got to be Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi! The both are going to be seen in Shakun Batra‘s upcoming romantic drama. We’ve seen them around town, shooting together and posing for pictures together and it seems like their rapport is super chill.

In a recent interview with Times Of India, Siddhant opened up about how he was initially hesitant and nervous working with DP, who he says is one of our most talented senior actresses who is extremely pretty. But later, he realised she is a very simple person at heart and got along very well with her.

Speaking about their on-set rapport, Siddhant shares that they used to have dinner together on set, which really helped them bond.

About the film in itself, the Gully Boy actor shares that Shakun’s film can’t be called ‘light’, and that it was quite challenging to portray the inner, emotional turmoil the character goes through. He calls this genre of film ‘domestic noir‘ — something we haven’t seen very often in Indian cinema.

He adds that it is genre we are exposed to given the many International films and OTT content out there, but not done enough in Indian cinema.

Well, I sure am excited to discover this new genre thanks to Shakun and cannot wait to see DP and Siddhant on screen together along with Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa who are also part of the film.
