A List Of All The Movies That Will Go For A Theatrical Release In 2021

One of the main areas that the pandemic-induced lockdowns have affected are theatres across the world. Now in 2021, with easing restrictions many production houses and moviemakers are making plans to go back to the big screens with their movies. Many of them which have been put on hold is now being set in motion for a big theatrical release with the hope that people will still love the experience of cinema. In the past few weeks, quite a number of films have been announced.

So, here’s a list of all the movies we know are going to release in 2021:

Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar – 19th March 2021

A cat and mouse chase starring Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor that’s bound to leave you on the edge of your seat by the looks of the trailer. This YRF film is directed by Dibakar Banerjee.

Roohi – 11th March 2021The movie around the corner is horror-comedy, Roohi starring Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor, and Varun Sharma. The trailer looks like a laughter riot and if Stree was anything to go by, we know this will be one mad entertainer.

Sooryavanshi – 2nd April 2021This Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starter directed by Rohit Shetty was due for release last year but had to be put off due to the pandemic. Now the film will release in single-screen and non-national multiplexes.

’83 – 4th June 2021The much-awaited biopic of Kapil Dev will finally come to the big screens this year. Once again uniting Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone as they play Kapil Dev and Romi Dev in the movie. The movie is directed by Kabir Khan.

Bunty Aur Babli 2 – 23rd April 2021We don’t know what the storyline will be yet, but we know it’s going to be just as entertaining a movie as the first one with Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerjee, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Sharvari.

Shamshera – 25th June 2021Another magnum opus we’re keeping our eyes peeled for, with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead and Sanjay Dutt as the villain, Vaani Kapoor plays the female lead.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar – 27th August 2021A social comedy in which Ranveer Singh plays a Gujarati man who believes in equal rights for men and women. Shalini Panday, the Arjun Reddy actress is all set to make her Bollywood debut with this one.

Prithviraj – 5th November 2021Another magnum opus, a historical action drama is set to release this year starring Akshay Kumar and newbie Manushi Chillar telling the story of the great Prithviraj Chauhan.

Bell Bottom – 2nd April 2021Another Akshay Kumar flick that is sure to grace the theatres is the first film to be shot mid-pandemic. An international spy thriller shot in Scotland. It also features Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, and Huma Qureshi.

Maidaan – 15th October 2021

This Ajay Devgn starter tells the story of Syed Abdul Rahim, a man who served as a coach and manager of the Indian football team in the 1950s. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. 

Jersey – 5th November 2021

 Jersey is the remake of the Telugu film of the same name starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. He plays a cricketer who returns to the game in his 30s. Mrunal Thakur will play the female lead.  

Chandigarh Karein Aashiqui – 9th July 

This movie features Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor. It shows Ayushmann as a cross-functional athlete. It is directed by Abhishek Kapoor 

Bhool Bhulaiya 2 – 19th November 2021

The Anees Bazmi directorial stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu in titular roles. It is the second film in the horror-comedy franchise. But it is not a sequel of Priyadarshan’s 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiya.  

Shershah – 2nd July 2021

The first look of Vishnuvardhan‘s war-action movie, Shershaah starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani. This movie is based on the life journey of Param Vir Chakra awardee and Army captain Vikram Batra.
