After months of speculation and heartbreaking reports of their unhappy marriage, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have finally decided to go their separate ways. According to a report in Entertainment Tonight, Kim filed for divorce on Friday and is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their four children – North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Reports suggest that Kanye is okay with this and that both of them are committed to co-parenting.
Furthermore, it is said that Kim filing for divorce is just the formal part of the process, the couple has been done for a while and has been amicable. Both of them have no disagreements on their prenup either and are already in the process of reaching a property settlement. Kim and Kanye still love each other immensely and are keeping their children as their number 1 priority which is why they will always maintain a positive relationship.
Kim has been spending time to make sure the divorce goes smoothly. According to ET, it has been an overwhelming process for the beauty and fashion mogul, but she knew this was inevitable. Kim has seen her parents co-parent successfully and even Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick and is hopeful she will be able to do the same.
The couple hasn’t been living together for a while and has been busy with work while keeping their children’s happiness at the forefront.
Difficulties in their marriage surfaced after the two had highly publicized tension last year after Kanye went on a Twitter rampage dragging Kim and her mother Kris Jenner. Before that, he also said that he would be running for President. On one of his Twitter rants, he accused Kim and Kris of trying to lock him up and another time he revealed that Kim and Kanye had discussed the possibility of an abortion when Kim was pregnant with North. Kim was reportedly devasted at that incident because she knew that when North grew up she would hear that and would be devastated.
We’re heartbroken about this news but hope both of them can individually find happiness.
