After a long, forceful yet much-needed sabbatical, the last weekend saw a few Bollywood celebrities step out in their stylish best to grace a red carpet event—the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2021. Sure, events like promotions, weddings and more have resumed but it’s the red carpet events that I’m sure all of us missed, thoroughly! That said, we spotted 9 B-town stars who arrived at the prestigious ceremony leaving no sartorial stone unturned! Missed to see who won what and what they wore? We give you all the deets, below!
Kiara received the Best Critics Award for her performance in Guilty. For the event, Kiara turned heads in an all-black lehenga set from SVA By Sonam and Paras Modi. She wore a glimmering V-neck cropped blouse with a flouncy lehenga covered in black beads and topped it off with a plain black dupatta. A diamond choker completed her look for the evening.
Nora was awarded as the Performer of the Year for her outstanding moves on-screen and she graced the ceremony looking like royalty in a chiffon, mint green saree by Rukhmani featuring a delicate gold embellished border. Two-tier strings of pearls with diamond and ruby-encrusted pendants, pearl-drop earrings and a statement ring from Farah Khan were her jewellery picks for the evening.
Sushmita bagged the award as the Best Actress in the web series, Aarya. The actor attended the function in a stunning black Givenchy gown with a mermaid cut and a diamond-shaped cutout on the bust. A glossy black belt cinched the gown at the waist and added more definition to her slick look. Dainty diamond-drop earrings and a cocktail ring added some sparkle to her all-black OOTN.
Vikrant took the award home as the Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Chhapaak. The actor looked sharp in a grey Raghavendra Rathore bandhgala suit for the evening. Glossy black formal shoes added the perfect finishing touch to his look!
Radhika looked to Manish Malhotra to help her look her absolute best as she graced the ceremony to receive an award for the Best Supporting Role in Angrezi Medium. The designer’s Bollywood-favourite, high-shine saree won Radhika’s vote. A silver, fully-sequinned saree teamed with pentagon-shaped dangly, diamond and ruby earrings was her look for the evening.
Bobby Deol won the award as the Best Actor in MX Player series, Aashram. The actor was seen receiving the prestigious award in a monochromatic Raghavendra Rathore look—a black bandhgala with caramel-hued buttons and a fuchsia pink pocket square, teamed with white trousers. Chocolate brown shoes rounded off his look for the evening.
Kunal took to his Instagram to share his happiness upon being awarded as the Best Actor in a Comic Role for his performance in Lootcase. The actor attended the award ceremony in an ethnic look—a white on white kurta and pyjama topped off with a bright red Nehru jacket. Brown formal shoes rounded off his look for the evening.
Divya was presented with the Style Diva of the Year award and she did not fail to stun us with her look even at the award ceremony! The actor picked an I Am Design creation for the event—a voluminous ivory lehenga with a bustier blouse decorated with multicoloured floral embroidery in shades of mustard yellow, pastel pink and blue and green. A pair of statement chaandbalis from Meraki glammed up her look further!
Daisy was also present at the ceremony and made a stunning style statement in a black and white bohemian look! The actor wore a Reeti Arneja creation, a black crop-top adorned with silver beadwork that she teamed with a floor-kissing black lehenga also embellished with delicate silver work. She layered the look with a black and white tie-dye cape. Silver earrings and bangles from Sangeeta Boochra were her accessory picks for the evening.
